Alex King commits to Kentucky Football

Mark Stoops and his staff continue to work wonders in the Buckeye State.

The Kentucky Wildcats are on some kind of hot streak with the 2017 class right now.

With this class already ranked in the top 10 of 247 Sports' team rankings, this is quickly shaping up to be another big haul for Mark Stoops and co. The latest commitment comes in the form of three-star defensive end Alex King, who pledged to the Cats during a Saturday visit to UK for a spring practice session before announcing it on Twitter:

The 6-3, 235-pound weakside end from William Mason High School (OH) holds offers from Tennessee,  Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Purdue, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Rutgers among others.

Rivals.com ranks King as the No. 19 prospect from Ohio, while Scout.com ranks him as the No. 2 defensive end from Ohio. 247 Sports Composite ranks King as the No. 433 prospect in the 2017 class.

King visited UK this past weekend during what turned out to be a monster weekend for the Cats as it resulted in multiple football commitments from 2017 prospects.

That weekend also saw fellow Ohio star JaVonte Richardson pledge to UK, and there's a belief more guys who were part of that visit may ultimately commit as well.

King originally confirmed his UK offer back in February

King will likely play as a hybrid backer/end in UK's defense and rush the passer a lot. That's where UK has been recruiting him to play. He also plays some tight end in high school.

Here are some highlights of King in action:
