Julius Randle's NBA journey has been a rough one to this point.
After breaking his leg and missing essentially all of his rookie year, Randle is now finishing up his first full season as a pro, one that's saw he and his Lakers endure one of the worst campaigns in franchise history. A 16-59 record has LA sitting with the NBA's second-worst record and likely will finish there when the regular season ends in the coming weeks.
But while the season as a whole has been rough, Randle has continued to fight through it while having a productive year. He's averaging a double-double with 11.2 ppg and 10.2 rpg and has 33 double-doubles this season. He also recorded his first triple-double last week as he's quietly becoming a quality NBA forward.
Now, he has a game-winner to add to his resume.
After the two teams battled to a draw through four quarters, they continued to trade blows in overtime in a back-and-forth affair. After drawing a foul on Luol Deng, Randle knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Lakers a 100-98 lead.
Wade would again tie the game with a layup after a Lakers turnover. It looked like another late-game collapse Randle had watched his team suffer all too often before, but he made sure it didn't happen on this night.
Randle would come down and hit a tough shot over Deng and Wade with 1.9 seconds left to lift the Lakers to a 102-100 victory.
After the shot, Randle paid tribute to his genitalia, or maybe it was former teammate Aaron Harrison.
After all, it's been about this time two years ago that Aaron and Randle were hitting big shot after big shot to lead UK to the national title game, leading to a lot of 'big' talk regarding Aaron's genitalia.
