Kentucky Wildcats signee Jordan Bonner will be on campus soon as he looks to make his mark in the SEC, but he almost didn't make it to any campus.
Bonner was reportedly stabbed multiple times this past weekend while visiting his infant son, according to FOX 8 in Cleveland. The good news is Bonner is OK now and should be fine health-wise, which is far more important than his athletic career.
Judging by the report, Bonner is lucky to still be alive.
Jordan Bonner told Fox 8 that he was stabbed six times.
"In my chest, abdomen , and back," Bonner said.
His mother, Pastor Karen Barhams, said the doctors told her that her son is lucky to be alive.
"They said had he not been an athlete in good shape this would have been far worse," Barhams said from her Cleveland home.
Police also arrested the man suspected of stabbing Bonner, who was in the hospital for four days.
Bonner may or may not have been referring to the incident with these recent tweets:

This whole situation open my eyes just a little wider. Through it all Yah still Gets the praise. Nothing or no one can bring me down.— Jordan Bonner (@TheGolden_child) March 22, 2016
My life is like a roller coaster but I'm embracing the ride.— Jordan Bonner (@TheGolden_child) March 23, 2016
Listed as a 6-5, 215-pound defensive end/outside linebacker, Bonner committed to Kentucky while holding offers from Tennessee, Nebraska, Louisville, Virginia Tech, New Mexico, and Memphis among others.
It doesn't sound like his athletic career is in jeopardy, but again, just being alive and in good health after something like this is all that really matters.
