Our BTC series continues with a look at the packaged play, draw and screen.
Here UK was faced with a 3rd-and-4 and called both a perimeter screen and a draw play. This is a "package play", which we're seeing more and more of in college football. It's basically 2-3 different plays put into one as the quarterback has the option to throw a quick pass or hand it off the running back.
It's grown more and more as many college and even NFL teams are adopting some form of it into their offense. Some teams have implemented more advanced forms in which four different options can be built within a play. It's not gotten quite that advanced for UK, but was still used last season.
In this example, the outcome would depend on what the linebackers did in reaction to running back motion. What happens next? Watch and see.
Again, working on the production and delivery, so please make suggestions.
