It looks like the Kentucky Wildcats and Alex Poythress avoided a major injury.
The senior forward missed Saturday's win over Florida due to an injury on his non-surgically repaired knee, and no firm answer was given as to how serious it was or how long he'd be out. With UK needing a strong finish to ensure they earn a top-four seed in the NCAA Tournament, Alex missing time right now would be a huge setback towards making that happen, but it doesn't sound like he'll be out long.

During his Monday SEC Teleconference, head coach John Calipari said Poythress had x-rays done that did not reveal any further damage, but still didn't give an exact time frame for when he may return.
"He’s day to day. I doubt if he practices today, "Cal said. "He had swelling on that knee. They took an X-ray. I don’t think the X-ray showed anything, but there’s some reason it is (swelling), so it’ll be day to day."
At this point, my guess is Poythress doesn't play Tuesday night against Georgia in order omake sure he gets enough rest and recovery before Saturday's big game at South Carolina. That also allows from Isaac Humphries to have another game in which he gets 10-15+ minutes and show if he deserves that every game going forward.
