Kentucky gets back to winning ways, Billy Gillispie retires, and more.

NCAA Basketball: Valparaiso at Kentucky Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

Kentucky basketball got back to their winning ways with a win over Valparaiso last night, taking them to an 8-1 record this season. Their performance against Valpo was much-needed after the loss to UCLA, as they defended well, kept the game up-tempo, and finished with authority inside.

Kentucky will take on Hofstra on the Dec. 11, where they hope to make it back-to-back wins before taking on North Carolina.

John Calipari can’t wait to work this team harder. I’m sure they’ll be up for the challenge.
