Kentucky looks for a win against Valpo, John Wall scores a career-high, Cats looking forward to TaxSlayer Bowl and more.

NCAA Basketball: UCLA at Kentucky Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

Kentucky will look to rebound today after suffering a loss to UCLA on Saturday. The Cats, going up against Valparaiso, will have to come out stronger than they did Saturday. The Cats shot just 41% from the field Saturday while allowing UCLA to shoot 53%, by far the best percentage of any of Kentucky’s opponents this year. The Cats also just shot 33% from deep, and allowed UCLA to shoot 43.5% from three.

The Cats had great pace, but they were missing and UCLA was hitting, simple as that.

The bounce back won’t be easy, Valpo is 7-1 and within striking distance of the top 25. Alec Peters, Valpo’s star forward, will certainly be tough to defend. Kentucky is expected to get back to their winning ways in this one, but it won’t be a cakewalk.

Tweet of the day

John Wall erupted, and the Wizards still lost. Seems to be a trend of great former Cats this year.
