The Kentucky Wildcats may be without two reserve big men Wednesday when they host Valparaiso.
During his Monday call-in show, John Calipari revealed that Sacha Killeya-Jones suffered an injury during practice that required stitches on his head, and it could sideline him Wednesday night. Calipari didn’t rule out the freshman big man for this game, though Killeya-Jones has had tough time just seeing minutes as it is, so keeping him on the bench may be the smart play here.
Calipari also said that Tai Wynyard will miss the game as he is with his family to mourn the loss of Wynyard’s grandmother. The redshirt freshman has flown home to New Zealand to be with family, and it’s unclear as to when he’ll return.
If both big men are out Wednesday, that could mean more minutes for Isaac Humphries and/or Mychal Mulder, depending on if Calipari wants to go more big or small vs Valpo.
