As Hamidou Diallo mulls over his next move, the Kentucky Wildcats are hoping he makes a decision very soon.
According to KSR’s Matt Jones, head coach John Calipari is visiting with the five-star shooting guard today, just two days after Diallo’s three-day official visit with UK. It also comes after Calipari’s UK team thrashed Ole Miss in Oxford, which had to impress Diallo.
The Putnam Science Academy (CT) star is ranked by 247 Composite as the 10th-best prospect in 2017. He is ranked by 247 as their No. 9 overall prospect and top shooting guard.
We already know that it’s very likely Diallo enrolls in a college soon and joins said team for the second semester. It also looks like UK is in the driver’s seat as Diallo decides if he’s going to visit Arizona, or decide now between UK and UConn.
It looks like Calipari is looking to get an answer sooner rather than later. Calipari is also likely pushing Diallo to decide now so he can be part of the remaining weeks of Camp Cal, which would give him a better shot at playing this year.
It’s hard to see Diallo missing all of Camp Cal and playing any meaningful minutes this season. He’s already facing an uphill climb if he were to join the team this weekend.
