Jordan Wright commits to Kentucky Wildcats

The Kentucky Wildcats continue to make waves on the recruiting trail.

The latest 2017 pledge UK has scored comes from three-star defensive Jordan Wright.

Wright, a 6-5, 230-pound pass-rusher from Fort Lauderdale (FL), is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 21 weakside defensive end in the 2017 class.247 also gives him a .89 grade, which has him on the cusp of being a four-star prospect.

The Dillard high School product has reported scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, and many others, but it was UK, Arkansas, Miami and Florida who was pursuing him the most recently. Even better is that Wright is a big-time player on the hardwood as well, and he's spoken with John Calipari about possibly joining the ’ basketball team as a walk-on if he plays football at UK.

With this commitment, UK now has 21 pledges in the 2017 class. The class was originally planned to be just around 20 players, but a number of unexpected transfers and retirements from football has allowed UK to build a bigger class, which now could be as large as 25 by the time National Signing Day arrives.

We'll have more on this latest commitment shortly. In the meantime, here are some highlights of the newest Cat in action:
