The Kentucky Wildcats could be getting a lot of good news on Thursday.
As the early signing period begins for high school hoops recruit this week, ESPNU will air a one-hour Recruiting Nation: Basketball Signing Day Special on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m. ET.
Three top 20 college basketball recruits in the ESPN 100 will announce their college decisions during the show, including five-star forward P.J. Washington. The other two will be five-star guard Gary Trent Jr. (likely Duke) and five-star point guard Collin Sexton (likely Alabama).
Washington is expected to decide between Kentucky, North Carolina and UNLV, though the Cats are the heavy favorite in this recruitment. Thursday is also when Five-star center Nick Richards and five-star wing John Petty will make their college decisions. UK is in the running both, though Richards is all but locked into to UK. Petty is a close call between UK and Alabama.
Last year, the ESPN Signing Day Special saw De’Aaron Fox (Kentucky) and T.J. Leaf (UCLA) both choose their colleges. Expect the Cats to come away with another pledge on the special this year. I would be surprised if UK doesn’t come out of this week with at least three pledges.
