One of the prized recruits of the 2017 class is very near making his decision.
Five-star forward P.J. Washington is planning on making his college decision in the early signing period, according to his father, who spoke with Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.
“P.J. will most likely decide during the early signing period,” Paul Washington Sr., his father, said. “He could hold out but I think he’s ready to move forward with the process.”
The early signing period starts next week, so if Washington wants to “move forward,” his decision could be made very soon.
Washington is down to Kentucky, North Carolina and UNLV. He has visited both UK and UNC, and had great things to say about both visits. He’ll take his UNLV visit next.
As mentioned before, Washington is a five-star forward on ESPN’s rating. He’s ranked the No. 2 player at his position and 16th overall in the ESPN 100.
Washington’s size and strength would be great down low for a program that is likely to lose at least one big man to the draft this year. Washington has been nothing but positive about his experience with Kentucky in this recruiting process, so perhaps Cal can fill a big spot with a very highly-rated prospect sooner rather than later.
