Immanuel Quickley offered by Kentucky Wildcats

John Calipari appears to be zeroing in on his next point guard target.

Five-star guard Immanuel Quickley has been offered by the Kentucky Wildcats, he confirmed via his Twitter page:

Quickley, a 6-3, 175-pound high school junior from Bel Air (MD)by way of John Carroll School, is coming off an unofficial visit with the Kansas Jayhawks. The Duke Blue Devils, Maryland Terrapins, Virginia Cavaliers and Louisville Cardinals are among the many schools who’ve offered him.

Quickley is ranked 16th overall in the 247 Sports composite rating and is the third-ranked point guard. Scout.com ranks Quickley as the No. 10 overall prospect in the class of 2018.

Calipari and UK have been recruiting Quickley for a while now, but handing out the scholarship offers shows that he is a legitimate target in the Class of 2018, possibly even ‘the’ top point guard target. So far, Quickley is the only point guard in 2018 with an offer from UK, but Calipari has also been recruiting Javonte Smart in that class.

Quickley is among the recruits who Calipari has watched this fall, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to see the offer finally come. Quickley will even take a trip to UK on Oct. 14 for Big Blue Madness.

It’s safe to say there’s already a good relationship by both sides. Quickley has already drawn comparisons to former UK point guard John Wall, so he already has an idea of how he’d be used under Calipari.

Here are some highlights of Quickley in action:
