As expected, Kentucky is the preseason pick to win the SEC.
The league announced Wednesday that UK was the media’s pick to win the SEC in the 2016-17 college basketball season.
In addition, sophomore guard Isaiah Briscoe, freshman forward Bam Adebayo, freshman guard De’Aaron Fox, and freshman guard Malik Monk were named to the media’s All-SEC teams. and
Bam and Fox got First-Team honors, while Monk and Briscoe garnered Second-Team honors.
This marks the 12th time since the 1998-99 season the Wildcats are the overall preseason favorite. UK was picked to win the title a season ago and shared the crown with Texas A&M.
UK head coach John Calipari has led his UK teams to regular-season SEC titles in 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2016.
