Alex Poythress may not be getting his NBA shot this season, but the dream isn't over just yet.
The Indiana Pacers announced Monday that Poythress had been waived as NBA teams cut down their rosters to 15 before the upcoming season begins next week. However, Poythress is expected to remain property of Indiana by playing for their D-League team.

Both are expected in Ft. Wayne.
Despite going undrafted during the 2016 NBA Draft, Poythress got a chance to play in the NBA Summer League with the Orlando Magic. After a good showing with them, Poythress signed a partially-guaranteed contract with the Pacers, which is why he will likely be playing for their D-League team this coming season.
In his final season with the Kentucky Wildcats, Poythress averaged 10.2 points and a team-high-tying 6.0 rebounds per game. He was also named to the SEC Academic Honor Rolly, the fourth consecutive year he's earned that honor.
