Quickies: Bayou Beatdown Edition

Cats fall flat at LSU. UK recruits shine & nominated for McDonald’s game. Praise for Young, Kash and Drake. More.

Well...that wasn't fun.

But that is life with a young team full of deficiencies that's clearly not the preseason top-five team everyone thought they were before the season began.

Thankfully, it's January 6th, not March 15th, the first day of the NCAA Tournament. We've seen John Calipari's Cats take their fair share of beatings before bouncing back come March, so let's not jump off the ledge just yet with this team.

And let's face it: LSU is probably the most talented team in the SEC other than Kentucky, despite their slow start to this season. If anything, be mad at Johnny Jones for his Tigers consistently playing up and down to their competition. Last night probably shouldn't have been such a surprise considering how much talent they have vs how much UK is struggling away from Rupp Arena right now.

LSU's supporting cast leads Tigers to crucial home win over Kentucky
This season has been an uneven one for the Wildcats, a team that has showed itself capable of both handling Duke and getting handled by UCLA, of being outplayed by Ohio State one week before beating Louisville. On this night, LSU looked better, and Kentucky just looked normal.
