Kentucky Wildcats Quickies: Statement Game Edition

UK has statement win in SEC opener. Football commits honored. Jordan Smith on 'incredible experience' singing in Rupp. Great gesture for Tom Izzo. More.

The Cats had an impressive blowout win of Ole Miss Saturday night on their way to win No. 11 this season.

It was the kind of performance we all envisioned seeing many times from a team with easily as much talent as any team in college basketball, but hasn't managed to harness it to this point. While there are still some issues and kinks to work out, this was the kind of statement game UK needed to remind everyone how good they can be.

Combined with last week's big win over Louisville, this season is slowly trending upwards to being a memorable one.

Kentucky basketball turns ‘Camp Cal’ into a Rupp Arena Clinic
