Kentucky Wildcats Quickies: Beat Arkansas Edition

'Cats try to get back to winning at Arkansas, college basketball continues to be crazy, hometown football 'Cats get an upgrade, and KAT is a beast.

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

When the Kentucky Wildcats roll into Bud Walton Arena tonight, they will be slight favorites. The Arkansas Razorbacks opened as 1.5 point favorites but that line has been bet to -1 in favor of Kentucky.

This is going to be a tough game. Arkansas shoots the three ball well and that's been a downfall for this team all season. John Calipari has never won in Bud Walton Arena and that loss at Auburn still has to sting.

With the craziness of college basketball, Kentucky needs to win the next two games in order to get back into a favorable situation in the rankings.

Tweet of the Day:

Is it just me, or is this REALLY creepy?

Kentucky Football:

ICYMI, 2017 4-star tight end Charles Reeves, Jr. Decomitted from the Wildcats yesterday. It stinks but that's the way the world works in football recruiting.

In more recruiting love for the 2016 Kentucky commits, Kash Daniels checks in at #74 and Drake Jackson at #94 according to 247. But the big news is Big Landon Young as he moves all the way up to #12. Congrats to all three of these guys.

Football players lend a hand at God''s Pantry and learns what service to others is all about.

Kentucky Basketball:

The Razorbacks have had an up and down season and, much like Auburn, they have something to prove against Kentucky. Hopefully our guys will be up to the task this time.

John Calipari's team is facing a bit of urgency as the road has not been kind to the 'Cats so far. They've gone from being the number one team in the land on November 23rd to being ranked 23rd. Yeah, time to step it up.

Skal Labissiere has been steadily improving game by game, but Cal isn't ready to rush him back. Through his struggles, Skal has leaned on Alex Poythress for advice. Is there a better guy to talk to when it comes to fighting through adversity and handling expectations?

Larry Brown on the assumption that John Calipari is destined to return to the NBA: Not so fast. Brown and Cal are great friends, I think we should all listen to the man.

UK Hoops:

After the men are finished in Fayetteville, the#9 ranked women will face Ole Miss at 9:00 PM.

Sports Around the Country:

The sixth-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers down at home to the unranked Texas Longhorns in Morgantown 56-49.

Not to be outdone, the #11 Michigan State Spartans went down at 12-8 Nebraska, 72-71.

Welp.

Even in a loss, Karl-Anthony Towns had himself a night:

John Wall, also is good at basketball:

The Buffalo Bills hire the NFL's first ever female full-time assistant coach. Awesome story.

The Quickies are a bit short today, so my apologies. It's my birthday and I'm off to spend it with my family on this snow day. It would be nice if the 'Cats could give me a win tonight!
