The 2015 college football season is here, and the Kentucky Wildcats will kickoff the New Commonwealth Stadium this Saturday when they host Louisiana-Lafayette.
After going 5-7 in 2014, UK looks poised to break through this year and get to six wins to reach bowl eligibility. They'll get a good first test when the Ragin Cajuns come to town fresh off their fourth-straight bowl appearance last season.
The sun Belt powers feature a strong ground game with running back Elijah McGuire toting the rock. As a sophomore last year, McGuire won Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year after rushing for 1,264 yards and 14 touchdowns rushing and 468 yards and two more scores receiving. McGuire had 22 plays of 20 or more yards and seven of 40 or more last fall.
As for the Cats, they'll feature a more balanced offense this year after being an air-raid team last year behind the arm of quarterback Patrick Towles. While new offensive coordinator likes to throw the ball around, he's also ready to take full advantage of a loaded backfield that includes Jojo Kemp, Mikel Horton, Sihiem King, and Stanley 'Boom' Williams.
Everything you need to watch the Cats kickoff their season Saturday night.
