The five-star shooting guard from Middle Village, NY (Christ The King Regional). is ranked No. 9 overall by Rivals, No. 15 by ESPN, and No. 14 by 24/7 in the class of 2016. Some services have the 6-4, 200-pound Alkins listed as a small forward.
Alkins holds offers from Florida, Florida State, Indiana, North Carolina, Kansas, Louisville, Maryland, St. John's, and Villanova among many others, but only eight remain in contention for him now.
As of now, Alkins is set to visit Kentucky for Big Blue Madness on Oct. 16. Despite recent momentum for N.C. State picking up, UK still leads his 24/7 Crystal Ball while receiving 50% of the votes with the Wolfpack trailing at 31% as of Wednesday morning.
