It looks like we'll learn where Kobi Simmons is committing to in the coming weeks.

The five-star 2016 combo guard will be visiting the Kentucky Wildcats this weekend, which will be followed by a trip to UNLV on Sept. 4 and then a visit with the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sept. 11. According to Adam Zagoria of Zags Blog, Simmons will then be making his college commitment the week following his Ohio State visit.

Simmons' father confirmed that news:

John Calipari saw Simmons thus summer at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam and has been hot on his trail for much of the past year. For awhile, UK was viewed as the heavy favorite for Simmons, but Cal's recent push on fellow 2016 guards De'Aaron Fox, Rawle Alkins, and Dennis Smith Jr. in addition to already pushing hard for Malik Monk, Simmons may not be as high on the Cats as he once was.

As of now, Simmons' crystal ball has the Cats in front of North Carolina (were just cut from list), Ohio State, and Xavier, but five of the last seven picks have come for the Buckeyes:

Here's a recap of how Simmons stacks up according to the ranking services:

24/7: #15 overall, #3 point guard

ESPN: #18 overall, #4 point guard

Scout: #18 overall, #6 point guard

Needless to say, Simmons will be a big get for whoever lands him, though any time a recruit sets a decision date after a visit with a certain school typically bodes well for them.
