We all know that high school football is as American as apple pie. It sets the tone for the college season and gets everyone hyped for football from Pop Warner to the NFL. Let's start it off with the USA Top 25 and see where that takes us. (Computer rankings are in parentheses)

You can't help noticing the vast difference between the expert rankings and the computer rankings. Which ranking is right? Who knows? Conspicuously missing from both polls is Miami's Booker T. Washington who experienced a coaching change.

In Kentucky, the Herald-Leader published their rankings. You can read the complete list here, but I will on show the top three in each class.

6-A: 1. Trinity; 2. St. Xavier; 3. Manual

5-A: 1. Bowling Green; 2. John Hardin; 3. Harlan

4-A: 1. Highlands; 2. Boyle County; 3. Lexington Catholic

3-A: 1. Central; 2. Tilghman; 3. Mason County

2-A: 1. Newport Catholic; 2. Owensboro Catholic; 3. Danville

1-A: 1. Mayfield; 2. Beechwood; 3. Louisville Holy Cross

Since we can now include Ohio as "in-state" recruiting territory, Here's the top three for each Ohio division:

Division I: 1.Moeller (Cincinnati); 2. Colerain (Cincinnati); 3. St. Xavier (Cincinnati)

Division II: 1.LaSalle; 2. Hudson; 3. Lima

Division III: 1. Archbishop Hoban (Akron); 2. Benedictine (Cleveland); 3. Midview

Division IV: 1. Toledo Central Catholic; 2. Hartley; 3. Hubbard

Division V: 1. Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy; 2. Cardinal Mooney (Youngstown); 3. Ursuline (Youngstown)

Division VI: 1. Marion Local; 2. Defiance Tenora; 3. Spencerville

Division VII: 1. Minster; 2. Norwalk St. Paul; 3. Caldwell

You might take note that Div. I St. Edward is a USA Top 25 team. However, they are ranked 7th by JJHuddle.com.
