Markelle Fultz announcing decision tonight; Louisville, Washington, Arizona in mix

UPDATE

It looks like Kentucky is no longer in the mix for Markell Fultz.

--

After Markell Fultz wrapped up his most recent official visit with Washington, it was unclear if the Kentucky Wildcats would also get one from the five-star guard.

Fultz originally planned not to take an official visit to Kentucky because, "Markelle knows what he needs to know about Kentucky." That's what Fultz's trainer, Keith Williams, recently told 24/7 Sports.

While Williams maintained UK was firmly in the mix for Fultz, it's never a good sign with a recruit is ready to make a commitment without having visited said school. It probably would have met Louisville, Arizona or even Washington may have been the pick had Fultz made his decision this week.

Well, Fultz apparently is making his decision this week, and it will come tonight live on ESPNU at 7 p.m. EST, according to multiple media reports.

Here's the odd thing: Fultz just told Zags Blog he may take an official visit to Kentucky.

"I’m planning on taking another visit or so but I had to come out here so I took a quick break," Fultz said. "I just want to take my time and meet with my mom and think about a couple other visits.

"Kentucky is another one I want to see, that’s another one who offered me, so I want to visit Kentucky. I’m thinking about taking an official, that’s what I’m trying to find out right now so that’s why I got to sit down with my mom and see what’s going on.

Fultz also said he hears regularly from UK head coach John Calipari.

"They talk to me a lot," he said. "Coach Cal talks to me a lot about how I can go there and how he helps people go to the NBA. I hear from them pretty much. It’s a blessing really but I’m just trying to find the best fit for me."

In the end, it looks grim for UK if he is announcing tonight. Whatever happens, we'll have Fultz's announcement covered here.
