In an amazingly slow news weekend for UK, the biggest event was the first scrimmage of the fall that took place on Saturday. Mark Stoops was pleased with the scrimmage and thought they "took a step forward" Saturday.
"We got an awful lot of work in today," Stoops said. "I thought we really did some good things on both sides of the ball. Just like the last couple days I've mentioned, impressed with what we're doing offensively. I feel like we're much deeper than we've been. Guys are stepping up, making plays. There's very good balance like we want."
By all accounts this camp has been the best yet for Stoops and company at Kentucky, hopefully the good news keeps on coming and translates to the field this fall.
There was hope of a decision after the scrimmage on the week 1 starter at QB but there is still not enough separation between the two just yet.
"They both did very well," Stoops said. "They both moved the ball at times, so we'll take a good look at it."
Jeff Badet was one of the more impressive performers Saturday and has been through camp. I really like Badet to have a breakout season and be a strong performer. I would not be surprised to see Ryan Timmons, Dorian Baker, and Badet be the big three this season.
Add in Garrett Johnson and Blake Bone and I honestly think by season's end we will have one of, if not the best group of receivers in the conference.

Bruce Pearl Beginning To Assert Himself
Five star wing Mustapha Heron has committed to Bruce Pearl and Auburn. This is Pearl's first five star at Auburn but will not be his last. The SEC is quietly putting together some serious talent, between Mississippi State, LSU, Texas A&M, and Avery Johnson at Alabama it is getting uncomfortable in the SEC for the mediocre.
Tim Tebow Is Back
I may be in the minority, but I am a huge Tebow fan, I would love to see him succeed and be on a team. I know he has a lot of faults and he is not a very good NFL quarterback by most standards. However, he is one thing that every single team wants/needs.. A WINNER.
Record Setting PGA Championship For Jason Day
Jason Day led wire-to-wire and finished a record 20-under at Whistling Straits. This is the first major for Day and was an emotional one, he was already in tears before he tapped in to finish the tournament.
Jordan Spieth finished second and took over the #1 ranking in the world over Rory Mcilrory. Spieth is putting together one of the greatest seasons in the history of the PGA.
James Harrison Returns Participation Awards
James Harrison does not think his sons should be getting awards unless they earn them.
Trent Richardson Being Trent Richardson
The book on Richardson in the NFL is that he could not hit a hole if he fell into one. He did nothing to help that cause this weekend.
