Kentucky vs. North Carolina Alumni Game in Rupp Arena in the works

It looks like we'll see the return of the Kentucky Wildcats alumni game in Rupp Arena.

Instead of former UK alumni taking on a team of villains though, this matchup will be against a team of North Carolina alum, according to Kentucky Sports Radio:

We’ve been told there could potentially be a UK vs. UNC game in Rupp Arena, with John Wall and Harrison Barnes serving as team captains. The game will feature several NBA stars from the two schools and it will coincide with Coach Cal’s fantasy camp, as we’ve seen with alumni games in the past.

The rivalry/alumni game isn’t set in stone just yet, but several people are working hard to try to make it a reality. Look toward the second weekend in September as a possible date if (or when) it is going down.

This wouldn't be the first alumni game Kentucky has held in recent years. The 2014 UK Alumni Charity Game, originally scheduled for last August, was cancelled due to a lack of participants, as well as the horrific injury Paul George suffered while playing in a Team USA exhibition game.

The 2013 UK Alumni Game featured Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Anthony Davis, Terrence Jones and Patrick Patterson, Brandon Knight and John Wall playing against a team of UK villains. It also raised a reported $1,005,000 for 17 charities.
