Mac Jones commits to Kentucky Wildcats Football

Yahtzee!

The Kentucky Wildcats have scored a big commitment in the Class of 2017.

Three-star quarterback Mac Jones just gave his pledge to UK:

According to 24/7 Sports, Jones is the No. 468 overall prospect in the Class of 2017 and the No. 24 pro-style QB. He held offers from Kentucky and East Carolina before his commitment while also drawing interest from Florida, South Carolina and South Florida.

This is an uncommon commitment from a Florida prospect to Kentucky. UK doesn't have a single pledge from a Florida prospect in the 2016 class, but did have eight from the 2015 and 2014 class combined.

As of now, Jones is the lone Class of 2017 commitment, but expect that to change soon with UK having filled most of its 2016 class. Jones also becomes just the second QB commit UK has gotten since Drew Barker in the 2014 class. The Cats have a verbal pledge from 2016 four-star QB Gunnar Hoak as of now and did not add a QB in the 2015 class.
