The Kentucky Wildcats have a new frontcourt target in the Class of 2016.
Wilbraham & Monson Academy (MA) forward Wenyen Gabriel picked up a scholarship offer from John Calipari and Kentucky on Saturday night.
It's been a great July. Just got an offer from Kentucky! Can't thank my teammates enough for helping me shine! #RivalsNation

247Sports ranks Gabriel, a 6-9, 195-pound forward, as the No. 67 overall prospect in the class of 2016. If Calipari has offered him a scholarship, though, you can bet Gabriel is having a good summer that will see his ranking increase before the 2015-16 high school basketball season begins the fall.
As of now, Gabriel holds offers from Maryland, Boston College. Providence Texas, Virginia, UConn, and Notre Dame among others. His current 24/7 crystal ball has Duke and BC as the favorites even though Duke has yet to offer. Expect some picks for UK to start coming in over the next month with Gabriel now holding an offer from them.
As of now, the Cats are likely to lose big man Skal Labissere next year to the NBA Draft. They may also lose forwards Marcus Lee and Alex Poythress to the draft, leaving UK with a very thin frontcourt and no current commitments there for next year's class. Tai Wynyard is currently committed, but he's expected to join this year's team in December.
