Earlier today Todd Greenwell, Keith Garrett, and myself recorded a podcast via Google Hangout. It's the first A Sea of Blue podcast in about 18 months, but several of us have talked about starting it back up for a while. The dog days of summer seem like as good a time as any to work out the kinks. We begin by talking about yesterday's huge commitment from JUCO blue chip offensive tackle Tate Leavitt, and why his pledge is so critically important for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
We then cover the so-called quarterback race between Patrick Towles and Drew Barker. We discuss the logic for not naming a starter prior to camp, and which player gives UK the best chance to win some ball games this fall.
Finally, we wrap things up by discussing new offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson. We discuss how much it should matter whether or not he called the plays at West Virginia, if UK's offense this season will look like WVU"s last season, and whether Towles or Barker have the best chance to be successful in the system.
