It looks like one of Kentucky's 2015 signees may not make it to Lexington this year.
Josh Pardini, an assistant coach at Lackawanna Junior College, tweeted this out yesterday welcoming UK signee Ja'Von Provitt to the family:
We would like to welcome 6'3 315 DT and University of Kentucky signee Ja'Von Provitt to the Falcon family! #LackLife pic.twitter.com/UEA5dCi3YR

Provitt, who signed with Kentucky this spring not long after committing to the Cats, has not made it to campus yet, and grades were a concern when he did sign. A three-star defensive line prospect by Rivals.com, Scout.com, 247Sports.com and ESPN.com, Provitt picked Kentucky over Cincinnati, Purdue and Toledo.
A 6-foot-4, 320-pounder out of Warren Harding in Ohio, Provitt is the kind of run-stopper UK needs more of against the physical rushing attacks in the SEC. This is a tough loss for UK if Provitt is in fact going to JUCO, but hopefully UK can get him back next year if he gets the grades needed.
UPDATE
It's official: Provitt is heading to JUCO with hopes of re-joining Kentucky in a little over a year:
UK defensive tackle signee Javon Provitt just confirmed to me that he has decided to go to Lackawanna Junior College (Pa.) next season.

Javon Provitt told me UK's coaches are on board with his juco move. He plans to be there a year and a half and enroll at UK in Jan. 2017.

Provitt very positive about future. Says UK's coaches have been supportive & Lackawanna not far from home. Fully expects to be Cat in 2017.
