Bad news for Kentucky.
A few weeks after visiting the Wildcats in early May, Jamal Murray is now visiting the Oregon Ducks, according to North Pole Hoops:
Jamal Murray is on an official visit to Oregon, his father Roger told North Pole Hoops.
Previously, the young Canadian star visited Kentucky.
Oregon has been in the thick of things from the jump, with assistant Mike Mennenga having strong ties in the world of Canadian basketball.
The Ducks recently added fellow Canadians 6’10 forward Chris Boucher (Monreal, Quebec) & 6’2 point guard Dylan Ennis.
Murray is still a few weeks away from deciding if he'll even reclassify to 2015. He's currently one of the top prospects in the 2016 class, but the belief is he's working to join the 2015 class.
At this point, the Ducks look like the biggest challenger to UK for Murray’s services, whether it’s in 2015 or ’16. They’ve been recruiting him the longest, but their backcourt is pretty stacked with five-star guard Tyler Dorsey coming in to join graduate transfer Dylan Ennis.
Both Oregon and Kentucky have stacked backcourts that could force Murray to be more a third guard, but he's said previously he's fine with that.
