John Calipari is one of the best in the business when it comes to shooting down rumors.
Not even one hour after Yahoo Sports reported the Kentucky head coach was talking with the Sacramento Kings, Cal quickly took to Twitter to shoot down the latest rumors of him leaving for the NBA:
For the 100th time, I have the best basketball coaching position in the world. I am not looking for any other coaching position.— John Calipari (@UKCoachCalipari) June 30, 2015
In the last two weeks, we’ve also talked a bunch about the draft and on draft day, obviously because of @ThewillieCS15.— John Calipari (@UKCoachCalipari) June 30, 2015
At no time has @Vivek offered me a job. I WILL BE AT KENTUCKY.— John Calipari (@UKCoachCalipari) June 30, 2015
You do have to admit Sacramento would be an intriguing option for Cal if he wanted to go there. Not only do the have DeMarcus Cousins and Willie Cauley-Stein, but are also reportedly going after Eric Bledsoe this offseason if they can trade for him. That would be three former Calipari-coached players in Sacramento.
Still, it looks like Calipari won't be leaving Lexington this year.
