NBA Mock Draft 2015: Jay Bilas & Chad Ford project first round with surprise at top

Mark Zerof, Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

The 2015 NBA Drafts begins Thursday night, and the prevailing sentiment is Kentucky's Karl-Anthony Towns will be the first pick.

Towns is expected to be drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves, marking the third Wildcat to go No. 1 in a draft in the past five years, all of which coming under John Calipari. Towns would also be the fourth No. 1 pick Cal has coached in college.

However, not everyone seems to think Towns should go first. Some still think Duke's Jahlil Okafor should be the first selection. ESPN's Chad Ford and Jay Bilas conducted a Twitter mock draft Monday night, and Bilas made a surprising move with the top pick when he took Okafor over Towns.

H/T to Aaron Hoff for the pic

The consensus seems to be the Timberwolves will take Towns, but Bilas, a noted Duke alum, doesn't see it that way. This isn't the first time he's said Okafor should go No. 1 either.

Regardless, anything other than Towns being the first selection would be a major shock. Okafor is a great prospect who will almost certainly go No. 1 to the Los Angeles Lakers, but Towns has earned the top spot.
