Kentucky QB Reese Phillips Ruptures His Achilles Tendon
Jen Smith has an article already describing some of the circumstances surrounding the injury to Reese Phillips. The good news is that he will be able to return in the fall, hopefully. The bad news is that he will miss all of the spring and summer training leading up to it. Also, consider this from Smith’s article:
Kentucky will start spring practice on Saturday morning with just two healthy quarterbacks in Towles, who started all 12 games, and threw for 2,718 yards and 14 touchdowns with nine interceptions. The junior completed 57.3 percent of his passes last season, as well as Drew Barker, who red-shirted last season.
That’s a bit thin. Still, if both Barker and Towles stay healthy, it should be okay. Fingers crossed.
