The Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team defeated #2 South Carolina last night on Senior Night in Memorial Coliseum. It was a fantastic victory for the women’s team, who has been struggling of late and really needed a lift going into the SEC Tournament. Last night’s victory game them that in spades.
Congratulations, ladies! Noble victory.

Again I heard this time by Tim McCormick of ESPN say Gonzaga is a team that can beat Kentucky. Ugh!

The inside story of how Kentucky landed Isaiah Briscoe. This is pretty much as you would expect, the main point being that Kentucky under Calipari draws players to the program like a magnet. That’s not to say Calipari didn’t work hard for this commitment.

Arkansas coach Mike Anderson thought his team gave great effort against Kentucky:
"I was disappointed in the outcome, but I wasn’t disappointed in the effort," Anderson said. "I thought our guys gave a great effort."
I agree, I thought Arkansas did all they could. They just ran into a buzz saw with something to prove.
-
John Clay says Andrew Harrison has become a true John Calipari point guard. I totally agree. When Andrew plays like he did on Saturday, there is simply no way to stop the Wildcats.
-
Jay Bilas says Kentucky does things the right way. He’s absolutely right about that. You’d think more people would notice rather than penning ridiculous, nonsensical screeds claiming Kentucky is killing college basketball.
-
Jerry Tarkanian’s family are all hoping for Coach Cal to have an undefeated season. He’s been a "wonderful friend" to the Tarkanians.
-
Coach Cal is very happy with Andrew Harrison’s play of late. So am I.

AJC writer Mark Bradley says Georgia has a shot against Kentucky. Everybody has a shot, it’s just that it takes more than that to defeat this team — a lot more. The good news for the Dawgs is that they have Marcus Thornton back, and J.J. Frazier as well.
