Welcome to the somewhat belated Tuesday Morning Quickies. Sorry about the lateness of the Quickies today, for some reason my home Internet connection could not resolve SBNation sites. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.
Word on the street is that, as expected, current Cincinnati offensive coordinator Eddie Gran will be hired as Kentucky’s new offensive coordinator, replacing the now-departed Shannon Dawson.
As expected.....will be a very good hire. https://t.co/5IoM0yVynP

Hank had a lot to say about Gran here, you might want to check it out in case you missed it over the holidays, as did Will. Jason has the Yahtzee post here.
Tweet of the Morning
Why not pump money into getting the best OL coach available? If we had a SEC OL this season might've been 10-2 or somewhere around there

From his lips to God’s (or maybe just Mark Stoops') ears.
Your Quickies:
Kentucky football
-
Kentucky commit Kash Daniel one of six national finalists for Defensive Player of the Year.
-
Former UK QB clarifies his comments on transferring. Much ado over very little.
Kentucky basketball
-
Larry Conely and Joe B. Hall haven’t forgotten Rupp’s Runts. While the 1966 NCAA Tournament championship game is mostly remembered for breaking racial barriers these days, there are other reasons for Kentucky fans to remember it as well.
-
Tyler Ulis wins SEC Player of the Week award, in case you missed it.
-
Yes, Skal is struggling, but John Calipari and at least one "NBA scout" have faith in him. I hope the break will help him regain his form, it’s mostly confidence at this point.
Other Kentucky sports
-
Kentucky women’s basketball waxes Tennessee State 81-39 to go 11-0.
-
Kentucky athletics GPA tops 3.0 for the 7th straight semester, but Men’s basketball took a dip, and football was under 2.5 for scholarship athletes. Women’s Tennis tops all sports with an impressive 3.7+. I’ll bet the one or two "B’s" that spoiled a perfect semester for them are annoying.

College football
-
College football’s best teams for the money in 2015. Eddie Gran’s soon-to-be former team Cincinnati tops the list.
College basketball
- Is Rick Pitino the least likable figure in college sports? Aaron Torres argues he is, and I think he has a point.
Other sports news
-
Former UK player and Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe has a torn meniscus, no timetable for his return.
-
Could Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Anthony Davis be in for a reunion?
Other news
- Okay, who released the Kracken? You know we can’t have that kind of thing on the holidays.
