During the Kentucky Wildcats' 74-63 win over Duke in the Champions Classic, Alex Poythress almost managed to lose a tooth in unconventional fashion.
It's not unheard of to hear of players getting a tooth knocked out after getting hit in the mouth, but it's usually catching an elbow to the face or something else while in the paint. Instead, the senior forward almost managed to lose a tooth as he was dunking in the second half.
It came when Jamal Murray blew past Marshall Plumlee and tossed up a beautiful lob to Poythress that he slammed down to help put the game out of reach, but got his tooth caught in the net as he was coming down:
Before we take off, chew on this. @AlexTheGreat22 did. pic.twitter.com/ZCCTq0bFd2

That looks painful and almost makes me feel good I was never athletic enough to dunk.
