Wildcat Quickies: Showing Promise Edition

Promise and potential are nice things if reached, something we all hope the basketball team does, but the football team has fallen very short of.

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

The Kentucky basketball Cats showed a lot of promise during their 87-57 win over NJIT last night. UK was dominant on both ends of the court for much of the game and showed why many think they can be cutting down the nets when the season ends.

Unfortunately, showing promise is something the football team also showed early this season on their way to a 4-1 start. While no one expected them to win the SEC or anything of that sort, the possibility of eight or even nine wins was there, but six straight losses have put even making a bowl in jeopardy.

Promise and potential are nice, but it's important to never get too high or too low during a long season.
