On Wednesday night, I was joined by A Sea of Blue editors James Streble and Keith Garrett to have a wide-ranging conversation. It seems like there's been a lot that has happened since the last we spoke, and we tried to hit on several different topics.
First, we talk about the state of the football team in the aftermath of the Eastern Kentucky game. We discuss our varying levels of frustration, James touches on his recent post about what kind of improvement he wants to see, and I continue to largely forgive the offense while increasing the level of scrutiny on the defense. Towards the end, Patrick Towles gets compared to both Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton and Andrew Harrison. It makes more sense in context.
We then transitioned to talk about the basketball team, and the early reports coming out of their practices. James is writing the player profiles for the site, and I wanted to pick his brain on which players he thinks will have a break-out year. We then talk about Skal Labissiere's situation, Keith makes sense on Tyler Ulis, and of course we talk about Derek Willis because if a UK sports site doesn't talk about why local kids aren't getting playing time then we contractually must shutter the site and cease to exist.
Finally, we talk about the drama going on in Louisville because it's our rival and a scandalous national story, and that was before today's breaking news.

As always, thanks for listening.
