The Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals are among the final schools in contention for 2016 five-star point guard De'Aaron Fox.
Fox is now competing with Team USA Basketball after visiting Louisville this past weekend. Unfortunately for the Cards, UL's recruitment of him has really heated up just as these improper recruiting allegations have come out.
In an interview with ESPN's Jeff Borzello, Fox talked about his visit to Louisville and the ongoing scandal surrounding them:
"No coach has been in contact with me about it, or players," Fox said. "Of course fans are gonna ... things get blown out of proportion, but fans are going to be the first ones you hear from, honestly. I've heard it from fans of Louisville, saying it didn't happen; fans of other schools, saying it did happen, so I don't really know what happened. But I'm nosy, so I'll try to find out. I really want to know."
Borzello also notes, "This recruitment will likely be done during the early signing period." If that ends up being the case, Kentucky looks like the pick, but as we've seen, a lot can change in the span of just a few weeks. LSU, Louisville, Kansas, Kentucky and Arizona are his final five with Fox already having visited UL and LSU.
His next visit is to Kansas October 9th before visiting Kentucky for Big Blue Madness on October 16th. Borzello reports Fox will visit Arizona in early November, paving the way for a potential decision during the early signing period. That takes place November 11th and ends November 18th, so look for Fox to decide sometime then.
