Following a wild Week 5 of college football, there's some big shakeups in the latest round of bowl projections.
Over at ESPN, Brett McMurphy has the Kentucky Wildcats taking on the Duke Blue Devils in the Belk Bowl in his latest projections. seeing the two hardwood rivals square off on the gridiron would definitely draw a big crowd for this SEC vs ACC bowl matchup.
As for Mark Schlabach, he has the Cats taking on the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Birmingham Bowl. That would be another intriguing matchup with those two schools being only an hour apart from each other, despite rarely playing each other in any sport.
Must Reads
SB Nation's Jason Kirk has Kentucky taking on another pair of Wildcats in the form of Kansas State in the Liberty Bowl. Bill Snyder once again has an underdog K-Sate squad looking like they can go toe-to-toe with just about anyone after nearly winning at No. 19 Oklahoma State this past Saturday.
Speaking of, CBS Sports' Jerry Palm has UK taking on those same Cowboys in the Texas Bowl in his latest projections. Having to face them is arguably the toughest matchup for UK in any of this week's bowl projections, not to mention it being a tough travel for Wildcat fans.
If you're interested in the national picture and who may be playing in this year's College Football Playoff, Schlabach has the Baylor Bears vs Clemson Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Ohio State Buckeyes in his latest CFP projections. McMurphy has the Oklahoma Sooners vs Stanford Cardinal and Michigan State Spartans vs Clemson in his projection. Kirk has Ohio State vs Clemson and Alabama vs Baylor. Palm's projection has TCU taking on Alabama and Ohio State facing Clemson.
Which of the following potential bowl matchups caught your eye? Personally, I'm all for Kentucky vs Duke in North Carolina's Belk Bowl.
