Kentucky Football: Boom Williams not expected to play vs EKU

Boom Williams apparently isn't out of Mark Stoops' doghouse just yet.

Kentucky Wildcats running back Boom Williams is in street clothes as the team warms up before facing EKU, meaning he is not expected to play in this game.

This comes after Williams missed practice this week with what Mark Stoops called a "personal issue" The issue with Williams arose during Kentucky's Week 4 win over Missouri. Williams leads Kentucky in rushing with 343 yards in four games and entered Week 5 ranked No. 7 in the SEC in rushing yards per game (87.8).

Against the Tigers, Williams with seven carries for 21 yards as Jojo Kemp got her bulk of the carries during UK's second-half rally. He also had just three carries after the first quarter and did not play after UK's second drive of the third quarter, leading many to speculate if Williams had been benched.

Head coach Mark Stoops never confirmed that was the case, and he also didn't say if the situation led to Williams falling to No. 2 on the updated depth chart. Leading up to this game, Stoops  never said Williams would play against the Colonels, so seeing him not play is no real surprise.
