The next three weeks are going to go a long way in shaping the 2016-17 college basketball season.

While the 2015-16 campaign has yet to even begin, much of the focus of the next few weeks will center around the nation's top high school prospects as they decide where they will attend college.

That's especially true of Harry Giles, whom many consider one of the two or three best prospects in the 2016 class. He'll reportedly be deciding during the first week of the early signing period opening:

The 6'10", 210-pound power forward from North Carolina will announce his decision when he’s back in his home state with Oak Hill Academy at the Phenom Hoops National Showcase in Winston-Salem, N.C. That would bode well for one of the state's college teams getting him, and tge belief for nearly his entire recruitment was that Giles would play in college in North Carolina.

It's believed that Giles is down to the Kentucky Wildcats and Duke Blue Devils, though a final list of schools could also include the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. At this point, all signs point to Duke, but UK has made up a lot of ground in his recruitment over the summer and early fall period.

One good thing UK fans can take out of this is the 14th will also be right around the time five-star point guard and fellow '16 recruit De'Aaron Fox decides after he and Giles just visited for Big Blue Madness. Maybe the experience of UK's best recruiting event -- combined with Fox and other UK targets/commitments in his ear -- may have helped sway Giles to really think about picking that Kentucky hat when he makes his decision.
