Kentucky Football Depth Chart for Mississippi State Week

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

The Kentucky Wildcats have updated their football depth chart ahead of their matchup with the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

There aren't many changes, but the biggest one is at nose guard with Melvin Lewis now sidelined with a fractured fibula. The team hasn't announced if Lewis will be out for the rest of the year, but that is the expectation. In his place is true sophomore Matt Elam, who played well against Auburn in relief of Lewis. Elam is arguably the best recruit Mark Stoops has gotten at UK after the former five-star prospect picked UK over Alabama in 2014, so now id his time to finally live up to that hype.

At defensive tackle, Cory Johnson is back ahead of Regie Meant, though they've both played great this year and will likely continue to split time. Meant's injury paved the way for Johnson to get more playing time. Meant and Johnson both played against Auburn, so expect to see a healthy dose of them both going forward.
