That was a good game: well coached, clean, few penalties or turnovers. But when they happened, boy did they hurt.
Congratulations to Auburn, who never stopped fighting. They played a brilliant opening quarter and closed out the game very well. I'm sure their fans were very, very relieved.
As for Kentucky, well, they were definitely better than their last game. Patrick played very well, and we had receivers with great moments....followed by not so great moments. Boom dropping a wide open pass hurt. So did Badet's drop. Defense was hit or miss:,great blocks mixed with missed tackles. Even special teams was sporadic.
Suffice it to say, this film review will sting. Not just because of the loss, but because it will clearly point out how very close we came to starting SEC play 3-1. We're now tied with Georgia, and short of a miracle Atlanta is firmly out of reach.
All that said? I like my team. I hope you do too.
Cue the post-game discussion. Go Cats!
