Last night, Patrick Loney tweeted out some very good news for Kentucky football. It isn't a commitment, but it is a huge hopeful sign for one of Kentucky's most important targets, Darius Fullwood:
Breaking News: Darius Fullwood has eliminated Ohio State from his recruitment.
— Patrick Loney (@PatrickLoney) June 23, 2014
This is Fullwood's tweet on the matter:
I WANTED TO THANK THE ENTIRE OHIO STATE FOOTBALL STAFF FOR RECRUITING ME! THEY WERE GOING IN ANOTHER PATH BUT ITS ALL GOOD❗️#StillBlessed
— Dee Fullwood (@realdeewood) June 23, 2014
Jordan Wagner, a recruiting analyst for Eleven Warriors, a well-known Ohio State Buckeys site, sees it the same way as Loney:
Three-star DE Darius Fullwood tells me Ohio State is no longer being considered after speaking with Larry Johnson Sr.

As much as it would give me pleasure to say that that Fullwood just likes us better (I'm not saying he doesn't, but remember who we're up against), the OSU side of the story seems to be that the staff is confident that they are going to land Jashon Cornell, a 4-star defensive end out of Saint Paul, MN. He is ranked the #6 defensive end in 2016 versus Fullwood's #18. Land Grant Holy Land also notes Fullwood.
So the news on the Darius Fullwood front this morning is good. We still have some very tough competition in the form of Miami (FL), Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Maryland (Fullwood's home-state school), so the Wildcats aren't by any means a lock. Having said that, if Ohio State is actually out of the picture (and there are plenty of OSU recruiting analysts who think so) that puts Kentucky in a much better position. Thanks to Hank for all this info.
