Mr. Hanky's Christmas Poo High School Football Update - Part Four

It seems each week, some teams move up in the polls and then promptly lose their next game. This past week it happened to Bowling Green (KY) High School. It also happened to Lakewood (OH) St. Edward and a couple of others. After picking up a commitment from one DE, we lost another. There are others out there that UK is recruiting. Stuff happens.

Steve Dykes-USA TODAY Sports

Week five of the high school season has ended, and before getting to the Top 25, here are some noteworthy items about Kentucky teams.

Bowling Green High School Purples were placed at #49 in the USA Today Top 50. So far this season, Bowling Green has beaten Mercer County 44-6, Lexington Catholic 40-14, (Louisville) St. Xavier, 6-0, and Owensboro 42-34. Friday they played Chattanooga's McCallie and lost 21-20.

Louisville's Trinity High School plays the toughest schedule in Kentucky. Don't believe me? They beat Cocoa 35-32.

Check out their schedule:

His brother, Keron , is a walk-on at Kentucky, and the redshirt freshman is a DB. DE Jason Hatcher, TE Thaddeus Kazunas, and kicker Max Strong all played at Trinity.

Bodacious  Damien Harris  Update

The nation's #1 running back and Kentucky favorite son (Damien Harris) received invitations to play in the Under Armour All-American game and the Army All-American game this past week. He has been quoted as saying that Ohio State and Kentucky are not his top two. The Cleveland Plain Dealer has an article about the remaining 5 spots for Ohio State's 2015 recruiting class and includes a video interview with Harris.

Kentucky Wildcats Recruiting News

As you all probably know by now, Kentucky picked up its 15 commitment from Deerfield Beach, FL 3* DB Jason Strowbridge.  He holds offers from a lot of schools...too many to list. His commitment pushed Kentucky up to #24 in the Rivals Team Rankings with an average star rating of 3.2. Strowbridge intends to take all of his official visits. D.J. Eliot made this happen.  As a result, DE Darius Fullwood announced his de-commitment. This is just my opinion, but it seems to me that Fullwood didn't like the idea of competing for a spot in the lineup. Kentucky has 11 spots available.

C.J. Conrad had a big night in Keystone's big win over Clearview, Read about it here.

Alex Stump's St. Edward lost to Cincinnati Elder in a game that Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow attended to watch Stump and the Dowell twins. Stump had 11 catches for 109 yards. The Cincinnati Enquirer has the story. As you probably know, Stump received an offer from Ohio State this past weekend. We may lose him, but he's been recruiting Ohio kids to come to Kentucky, so maybe we won't lose him.

Rivals UK analyst, Justin Rowland, says  Darius Fullwood's final destination is either Virginia Tech or Maryland.

UK commit Jabari Greenwood, top target Marcus Lewis and Alabama commit Richie Petitbon had good nights as their Gonzaga team beat Georgetown Prep 38-3. Here's the highlights from DMV Elite Football.
