We just finished week three of the high school season. While I'm listing the Top 25 action first as usual, my game of the week doesn't fall within the realm of the national top 25. My game of the week is the Madison Central - Madison Southern game which you can watch on Youtube below. Let's get started.

The Bodacious Damien Harris Update
Kentucky's 2015 favorite son had 318 yards on 17 carries on Friday night in Madison Southern's game against Madison Central. He also scored another 4 TDs just like last week against Whitley County. Southern beat Central 42-11. Harris now has 698 yards on 37 carries in three games. That's 19.9 yards per carry if you're interested in stats. He has 9 touchdowns in 2-1/2 games. Southern's first game was called at the half due to weather. He scores a touchdown on every 4th carry.
Jeff Drummond at Kentucky's Scout website tweeted that the word from the Southern sideline was that Harris has been sick all week and threw up during the game. What he accomplished was done without being at 100%.
Watch the game on Youtube, if you have the time.
Stoops pulled a Calipariesque move by going to the game with Chad Scott in a helicopter. Talk about showmanship! Stoops sent out an instagram calling the chopper The Yahtzeemachine. While it may or may not have had an effect on the nation's best running back, I'm pretty sure it impressed the fine citizens of Berea. Here he comes. Oh yeah, Stoops carried the ball to the center of the field to give it to the refs. Nice touch.
Was Harris impressed with the Stoops visit? You betcha. Read Ben Roberts interview with him after the game.
Harris took his official visit to Ohio State Saturday to see the game between the Buckeyes and the Virginia Tech Gobblers. Yeah, I know. They're called the Hokies these days. They will always be the VPI Gobblers to me. I'm old school, so shoot me. While some are gleeful that tOSU lost while he was there, Harris is on record as saying wins and losses won't have any effect on his decision. If that applies to Kentucky, it also applies to the Buckeyes. So, nothing's changed. Add to that is his coach is quoted as saying that he won't be an early enrollee.
Kentucky Wildcats Recruiting News
Justin Rowland at Kentucky Rivals (Cats Illustrated) has some really cool maps regarding recruiting since Stoops came on board. Definitely worth a click.
While Stoops and Scott were at Madison Southern, Vince Marrow was up in Westerville, Ohio on a recruiting trip to watch junior Marcus Williamson and freshman Jaelen Gill who both just received a UK offer.
Hialeah American Heritage HS Rivals 3* DB Jeremiah Dinson was on campus for the Ohio game. He committed to the Cats before the game. He is a priority target.
Washington, DC 4* OL Richard Merritt (2016) received a UK offer on Sept. 2nd and has indicated via twitter that he wants to take a visit soon. He plays for Archbishop Carroll. He also has offers from Alabama, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, among others.
Speaking of DC, the Washington Post recently published the top teams in the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia). Several of their early favorites have already lost a game. Kentucky is trying very hard to make the DMV a pipeline.
There were several recruits in attendance during the Ohio game. Here's a list of those I know about:
Keion Wakefield, Drake Jackson, Rontavius Groves (received an offer during visit), Deylon Williams, Jeremy Darvin, Jacob Phillips, Jensen Feggins, Christian Abercrombie and Austin Mills
Finally, 5* DL Daron Payne has sent Patrick Loney (All Wildcats [Scout]) a tweet,
#BBN Where Y'all at LOL #Whynot.
Just for the record, He's not shown much other than a passing interest in UK, at least publicly. My advice for him is that he acknowledge that communication is a two-way street. If he shows "Luv" for the #BBN, then the #BBN will respond in kind.
Scout recruiting analyst, Patrick Loney says that Payne has more than a passing interest in Kentucky. Forgive me if I am doubtful. I think I can change my mind very easily should he decide to visit Lexington.
Until next week, I bid you adieu.
