Kentucky football just received its tenth commitment in the form of offensive lineman George Asafo-Adjei, per Justin Rowland at Rivals. The 6'4'' 300 pound Asafo-Adjei attends Lakota West HS just north of Cincinnati, which is the same school recent UK signees Kyle Meadows and Mikel Horton attended. UK looks to be establishing a pipeline there. Asafo-Adjei is a 247 Composite three star recruit, and was recruited by Vince Marrow. UK received his commitment over UofL, West Virginia, and a late Florida offer.
The 2015 class is now up to ten commitments. On Rivals, UK now has the 22nd ranked recruiting class, and many schools ahead of UK already have more than 10 commits. The possibility to move ever higher is present. I would suspect more commitments are likely over the next 4-5 weeks as we are in the middle of camp/unofficial visit season. Any prospect who is looking to wrap his recruitment up prior to the start of his senior season will be making a decision soon.
For those scoring at home, Asafo-Adjei makes the sixth offensive line recruit for UK this class. Given his size he is versatile enough for the coaches to try him out at either guard or tackle, but with at least four (if not five) pure tackles already committed, I think Asafo-Adjei's ultimate destination is at the guard position. Presumably, UK will still hold a position for offensive tackle George Brown Jr. who is expected to announce his committment on his birthday in late October.
It's a long time to NSD, but this is shaping up to easily be UK's best offensive line class on paper since the advent of the recruiting sites.
