Mark Emmert is set to take the stand today in the O'Bannon vs. NCAA trial. This should be interesting. Somebody pass the popcorn.

Recruiting Florida isn't easy, even for Florida schools....very competitive. {Hank}

Three things we know, and three things we don't know, about Kentucky football next season. The third thing we "know" is a little... suspect:
- It's going to be a long year.
When a team is coming off of consecutive 2-10 seasons, it's most likely going to have another rough go of it. The schedule doesn't really set things up for a backdoor into bowl season should the team surprise to the upside, and the fact that all of those old guys made the core of some awful teams doesn't inspire hope of such a surprise anyway. The key to the season might just be the team's second game against Ohio. Win it, and there can still be hope for something crazy to happen later. Lose it, and it might nudge the staff into a youth movement where Mark Stoops's highly touted underclassmen get thrown into the fire for seasoning. If the latter is the way things go, the team will take some real lumps this fall. [My emphasis]
"...It's most likely..." doesn't quite fit the "know" part of the title. I do agree with the substance paragraph and opinion of the author, but this isn't really a "known." It's more of an educated guess.

Kentucky is using their connection with Enes Kanter to recruit 5-star point guard Derryck Thornton Jr.
-
Eric Bledsoe is in town. In my view, Bledsoe has been the most impressive success story of the Calipari era.
-
2015 stud power forward Carlton Bragg is coming to Big Blue Madness. Excellent!
-
Mike DeCourcy ranks UK as his #1 shooting guard for the 2014-15 college basketball season. I think Aaron really earned that with his performance in the post-season, and he only figures to get better next year.
-
Julius Randle impresses the Utah Jazz, who said they have no concerns about his foot.

Matthew Mitchell accomplishes a rare feat — beating UConn for a recruit:
"I really expect her to be a WNBA player when she graduates," recruiting analyst Bret McCormick said of [Batouly] Camara, a 6-foot-2 power forward out of Blair Academy in New Jersey. "She's great around the basket. Her ceiling is through the roof."
Wow. Now that's something we haven't really had around here, a likely WNBA player.

Former Bat Cat Matt Reida has signed with Tampa Bay, even though he went undrafted.
