Tweet of the Morning

Heh. Too right.

Your Quickies:

Kentucky football
  • 5* DE Rasheem Green narrowed his list to 15 and Kentucky's still in the mix. {Hank}

  • Shout out to Ft. Thomas Highlands! {Hank}

  • Ira Combs answers the question: Can Mark Stoops can take the Kentucky football team from 2 wins to bowl eligibility?

    First and for most [sic] UK can go from a two or even a one win season to bowl eligibility the very next season because it’s already been done not once but twice . Jerry Claiborne took over UK football from Fran Curci in 1982 who had left the program in NCAA shambles with probation penalties to over come . Claiborne red-shirted pretty much the entire freshman signing class that year and went 1 – 10 - 1 then came back in his 2nd year to post a 6 – 5 – 1 season with a Hall of Fame bowl appearance against West Virginia in Birmingham , Ala .

    So there you go.

  • Starting Drew Barker would be a bold move. Well, not really, but in any case, I don't think he's ready to start. Patrick Towles looks more ready to me.

  • Team Speed Kills says UK gets "One more mulligan":

    He's only got one more year to work like this, though, so Stoops had better sell the hell out of it. Kentucky fans may be patient, but they don't fit their stereotype of not caring about football as soon as John Calipari's bunch hit the hardwood for preseason practice. Football fans there might be a bit more patient, but they do want to see regular bowl appearances. The school is spending $110 million to improve Commonwealth Stadium right now. They can see Vanderbilt win nine games in consecutive years and wonder why their own program hasn't done so since the '70s.

    I'd say this is probably right. Kentucky fans need to see improvement this season. I expect we will.

  • Ranking the SEC defensive ends. Bud Dupree and Za'Darius Smith both make an appearance on this list.

  • Former UK player Howard Carter operates a successful concrete business.

  • Quandeski Whitlow, Jalen Whitlow's cousin, commits to South Carolina over Kentucky and others.

  • Three ingredients for that elusive SEC win.
